Neroli Flower

Common Name: Neroli

Latin Name: Citrus aurantifolia

Description:

Neroli is distilled from the delicate blossoms of the bitter orange tree (Citrus aurantium). It has long been associated with the heart, love, and emotional harmony, and is cherished for its ability to calm the nervous system and invite a sense of connection and ease.

Native to the Far East, the bitter orange tree adapted beautifully to the Mediterranean climate and is now cultivated extensively in Morocco, Italy, France, and Tunisia. The name neroli comes from Princess Anna Maria de La Trémoille of Nerola, who famously perfumed her gloves and garments with orange blossom, popularizing the scent among European nobility. In the perfume and cosmetic industry, neroli oil is revered for use in skin preparations and perfumes, as it takes many delicate blossoms to produce even a small amount of oil, hence Neroli is considered rare and precious.
