Happy Holidays: Bitter Herbal Cocktail Recipe

Happy Holidays! We want to express our heartfelt THANK YOU for your support and being a part of our community. You mean the world to us. Wishing you peace, joy, and abundance in the year ahead.

To spread some holiday warmth, we thought we would share a herbal cocktail using traditional bitters. It's the perfect drink for the season, as it supports our digestion after all the holiday indulgence. We hope you enjoy it!

History of Bitters:

Traditionally, bitters have been used to support healthy digestion by stimulating the salivary glands to encourage the body’s natural digestive processes. Add a splash to your festive cocktails to help ease holiday bloat and that seasonal bulge.

Fun fact: Herbal bitters date back to ancient Egypt, where aromatic herbs were steeped in wine to create some of the earliest digestive tonics.

INGREDIENTS:

Sea salt

1.5 oz Blanco tequila

1 oz Fresh grapefruit juice

.5 oz Fresh lime juice

2-3 dashes Angostura bitters

Soda water

1 sprig of rosemary

Wedge of fresh citrus (clementine or orange works well) to garnish

METHOD

  1. Rub a wedge of lime around the rim of the glass and dip in salt
  2. Combine tequila, fresh grapefruit juice, lime juice, and bitters in a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake vigorously.
  3. Pour over ice and top up with soda water.
  4. Finish with a slice of citrus and stir in a fresh sprig of rosemary to garnish.

Enjoy.
