Fire Cider: Two Ways

To spread some holiday warmth, we thought we would share this popular herbal recipe —with a few twists of our own;) It's the perfect drink for the season, as it supports our digestion after all the holiday indulgence and travel. We hope you enjoy it! 

Fire Cider: Two Ways

This twist on a classic fire cider makes for a delicious warming holiday drink or a refreshing (and healthy!) cocktail (or Mocktail!) We've added Ginger Beer and Rum as a nod to my Jamaican Roots. The rest is ALL Herbal;)

 

Ingredients:

Fresh organic turmeric root

fresh organic ginger root

1 organic lemon

1 teaspoon cayenne

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar

 

Method:

Scrape the skin off your ginger and turmeric roots, a spoon works great for this. Combine all ingredients in a powerful blender and blend until completely smooth. If you don't want any texture, you can strain before transferring into a jar.

 

To Serve HOT

Add 1 oz. of the fire cider mixture to boiling water. Feel free to stir in some honey if you like it a little sweeter!

 

To Serve COLD

Fill a glass with ice and pour 1 oz of the fire cider mixture over the ice. Add 1.5 oz. of rum. Top up with ginger beer and stir vigorously.
